MEET
SWAY'S
FOUNDER
My name is Ashten Duncan
I am a marketing and communications strategist, storyteller, and founder of Sway Marketing, a Grand Rapids-based marketing company helping organizations turn their work, stories, and impact into communications that connect with the people they serve.
My experience spans social media management, content strategy, campaign development, writing, community storytelling, event marketing, and brand communications. Much of my work has centered on community development and place-based initiatives, where she has helped organizations translate complex projects and programs into accessible, engaging stories that reflect the people and neighborhoods behind them.
Through Sway Marketing, I have worked alongside nonprofits, small businesses, community organizations, and entrepreneurs to develop thoughtful communications strategies and create content that builds awareness, strengthens connection, and moves audiences to action.
At the heart of my work is a love for storytelling and a belief that good marketing is about more than visibility, it’s about understanding people, communicating with intention, and making sure meaningful work is seen, understood, and remembered.
